OPA is a soccer training academy for high level plays that are looking to take their game to the next level. We are not a club but a supplemental program that works alongside your club and high school teams. Our goal is to improve your all-round game and maximize your performance when competing for your respective club/HS.

JASON GRIFFITHS

Founder & Coach

Jason Griffiths (Otterbein University Men’s Head Coach). Jason started OPA in 2017 and since then has coached over 500 players in the program. With his coaching and guidance he has helped players fulfill their dreams of playing at the next level in college and professionally. Jason will enter his 9th season in charge of the Otterbein Men's Soccer Program in 2025. In his 9 seasons in charge Jason has an overall record of 98-40-19 (49-16-7 OAC) and has won 5 OAC Championships. He has guided the program to 4 NCAA Tournament appearances. Jason was named OAC Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2021. He has also coached 2 All Americans (Jaden Lunger 2017 and Will Isaac 2021). Jason played at the University of Kentucky for 4 years and was a 2 year caption and All Region Selection. He was selected #48 in the 2010 MLS Superdraft and played for the New England Revolution in the MLS. He currently also coaches for the ECNL boys at Ohio Premier and has his USSF B License.

LIAM HEARD

COACH

Liam Heard begins his 4th season as an Assistant under head coach Jason Griffiths at Otterbein University in 2025. Heard played for 2.5 seasons at Otterbein (shortened because of COVID) before transitioning into the coaching realm. In that time Otterbein went 31-14-4 while winning the 2021 OAC regular season and reaching the NCAA second round. Heard has coached at various clubs and academies in New Zealand and in Ohio and is currently working toward his USSF D license.

Will.HEIC
WILL ISAAC

COACH

Will is in his 2nd season as Otterbein's Assistant Coach. Will played in 87 matches and started all 59 over his final three campaigns. He racked up 113 points (42 goals, 29 assists) along the way… becoming the program’s new all-time leader for assists.

Will was a 4x All-OAC, 3x All-Region and 3x All-Ohio standout up top, with the pinnacle coming in 2021 as he was named All-American by the United Soccer Coaches organization. The next year (2022), he was selected OAC Forward of the Year after leading the league in both goals and points.
